The teenage years are hard to navigate and are only made tougher by low self-esteem and bad body image issues. Even young people from loving, supportive and affirming families can feel awkward, under-confident and consider themselves unattractive!
It is why I LOVE photographing teenagers! At my Studio, we start by pampering them with a professionally done hair and makeup session that enhances their natural beauty. Then I style their outfits, pose and light them so they feel like a model or celebrity from one of their favourite fashion magazines. I love to watch them go from shy and unsure to confident as the shoot progresses. This truly transformative experience is a HUGE confidence booster. It gives me the opportunity to capture for all time, their unique beauty… to reflect their light back to them in the best portraits they have ever seen of themselves. Seeing their gorgeous images is printed proof that they are beautiful… just like Mum, Dad and the people who love them, say they are.
